NABHA, Punjab—Political Sikh prisoner Bhai Lal Singh was yesterday released from Maximum Security Jail of Nabha on parole for 42 days.

He will be required to return to the jail on February 21, 2016.
Bhai Lal Singh was indicted under section 120-B of Indian Penal Code, Sections 3,4,5 of TADA, section 25 ofArms & Ammunition Act under FIR No. 6 registered against him in New Delhi on 5th August, 1992.
Bhai Lal Singh’s case is very interesting.  He has been imprisoned since 1992 but was never given a fair trial.  He was earlier released during the Amb Sahib morcha three years ago.  It is notable that Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa is currently struggling for the release of political prisoners who are languishing in jails despite having completed their sentences.  His struggle will complete one year on January 16, 2016.
