The Sant Samaj has come out publicly in support of Shiromani Akali Dal (B)
in place of Sarnas.  
Although the call was easy for Sant Samaj to make, it is their decision to openly support the Badals that has fueled the fury by Sikh Sangat against them.  The Sant Samaj, led by Baba Harnaam Singh Dhumma has been a close ally of Shiromani Akali Dal (B) ever since the State Assembly elections.  Following the support received from Dhumma and other “Sants”, Badal is trying to use the same card in the upcoming polls of Delhi Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.[youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjL9vaezNnk[/youtube]A video published online scorning the Sant Samaj for supporting Akali Dal (B).  
Social Networks, such as Facebook and Youtube are being used heavily in the Delhi Elections.For any thoughtful Sikh living in Delhi, the decision to support either party – Sarna vs. Badal is a very tough decision to make.  Either way, they will be helping a non-Panthik party control most of Gurdwaras in Delhi.  While Akali Dal Badal is known to have infiltrated Sikh institutions in Punjab using its control of SGPC, the Sarnas are responsible for much sacrilege by allowing meat and liquor within Gurdwaras in New Delhi and supporting terrorists like Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar.  
Similar to Sarnas controlling all operations of Gurdwaras in Delhi, Badals enjoy the liberty of appointing even the Akal Takhat Sahib Jathedar.As all of this is known to the Sant Samaj which has been working closely with Akali Dal (B) and SGPC for a long time now, its leadership is now receiving flak of Sikh Sangat for continuing to support anti-Sikh elements.  
The Sant Samaj had initially avoided being flaked by its admirers by bringing about changes to the Nanakshahi calendar.  That was a big victory for many, however it seems the Nanakshahi calendar was just a small part of the deal, and the real reason was perhaps the political agenda of Baba Dhumma and others.Congress and BJP Infiltrate Delhi Gurdwara Elections to the CoreFormer Chief Minister of Punjab,
Capt. Amarinder Singh, while rallying for Paramjit Sarna, asked all of his supporters to boycott Akali Dal (B).  He questioned that if Badals win, Delhi Gurdwaras would be in a mess  since the Badals will soon head back to Punjab.  On the other hand, Sukhbir Badal alleged that “the Congress was dividing Sikhs on caste and geographical lines”.While Sant Samaj is openly supporting Akali Dal (B),
Congress and BJP are  also playing a key role in the upcoming elections.  While Congress is heavily supporting Paramjit Sarna and his associates, the BJP has also come forward in support of its Punjab allies. 
 From all this involvement by political parties, it is evident that the elections for DSGMC are purely politically motivated.One may wonder why so much interest is being shown by SAD (B) in the Delhi elections.  If the Badals win control of DSGMC, it would be able to field its own candidates in the next assembly elections and help the BJP form Government in Delhi.
