BATHINDA, Punjab—There is uproar within the sangat of village Chauke (Maur Mandi) in Bathinda. As per reports, the village panchayat tried to cover up the beadbi by transferring angs of Sri Dasam Granth to Damdama Sahib. These angs were found torn from the saroop and were taken to Damdama Sahib without informing the sangat.
However, later during the day, Sikh youth retrieved several other torn angs. It is being believed that they belong to the same saroop that was desecrated earlier.
There is uproar within the Sangat as they are blaming the local administration for trying to cover up the incident. The angs which were retrieved by the youth are being kept by the Singhs who are demanding complete investigation into the incident. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
The angs were retrieved by a youth named Amritpal Singh (Jodhpuri). Bhai Amritpal Singh is a close associate of Bhai Surinder Singh Thikirwala. He was earlier in the limelight for climbing a water tank in Hassanpur, Ludhiana, to protest against Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s forceful detention by the police.
