HSGPC Steps Back From Supporting Sarbat Khalsa
CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandak Committee has made it clear that it doesn’t support the Sikh sovereignty concept highlighted by Panthik organizations during the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ of November 10.
In a press note shared with Sikh24, General Secretary of HSGPC, Joga Singh said that it doesn’t support the shouting of separate state slogans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, following an address by Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand, acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Sahib. He said that HSGPC feels that Sikhs are already independent in India.
He also announced that a meeting of the general body of the HSGPC would be held on November 14 at Gurdwara Cheeka Sahib to deliberate upon the challenges facing the Sikh panth.
