New Delhi—Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party has distributed checks worth Rs. 5 lakh to the victim families of the anti-Sikh genocide.  During the program organized to distribute checks, Kejriwal stated that he would try his best to provide justice to the victim families as the money can’t be considered as justice to them. He said that AAP government would dig into the legal violations made by the NDA government after discussing the matter with their legal advisers. MLA Jarnail Singh acted as stage secretary on this occasion.
Paying tribute before photos of 1984 martyrs, Arvind Kejriwal said that if the culprits of 1984 Sikh genocide would have been punished, massacre of Muslims in Gujarat would not have occurred.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the AAP government has distributed checks to those 1320 families who had their documents attested from Sub Divisional Magistrates. He asserted that the rest of families will be delivered checks within 15 days.

Sikh genocide victim Bibi Nirpreet Kaur asked for employment options for the victim families and the establishment of rehabilitation centre in Tilak Vihar.

Senior Advocate H.S. Phoolka said that punishing the culprits of Sikh genocide is necessary to avoid such genocides in future. He alleged that the Special Investigation Team didn’t reopen a single case of Sikh genocide.
