This year, once again he earned the high achiever award by participating in the popcorn fundraiser and selling over $3000.
Karman never misses an opportunity to give speeches and presentations at his scout meetings. He holds two leadership positions, namely an instructor and a webmaster in Troop 132. The National Sikh Scouting program has a three-fold goal.
-
First, is to recruit and get as many Sikh-American children into Scouting.
-
Second, is to educate as many non-Sikh Scouts about the Sikhs and our heritage.
-
Third, to utilize all the content we have created and are creating as resource material for all the public schools across the nation. Currently all three goals are at various stages of progress.
ASC has recruited over 200 children into Scouting across the country since 2021. ASC has also educated over 200,000 Scouts about Sikhs and Sikhi at various forums, including state, national and international Jamborees. Finally, ASC is steadily getting the workbooks into schools as resource for teachers.
Scouting teaches an amazing selection of skills while Scouts have fun in the great outdoors and make friends with others. Sikh American parents are encouraged to enroll their children in any Scout Pack and/or Scout Troop and make full use of this fantastic program which has and continues to benefit millions of young children across our nation. Scouting is one of the best programs available to teach leadership skills while enjoying the great outdoors.
