Although Anti-Congress, BJP Still Quiet Over Sajjan Kumar Acquittal
NEW DELHI (May 4, 2013)–The entire Sikh community, including even the Shiromani Akali Dal (B) and Delhi Gurudwara Committee stands united against the acquittal of Sajjan Kumar, the BJP however is silent over the entire issue and has not joined in any sort of protest. This is despite the fact that Sajjan Kumar is a Congress leader.
It is important to note that BJP’s political ally, SAD (B) is against Sajjan Kumar’s acquitall. These parties have rallied together in Punjab,
Both parties have joined together on various issues, but today when the Akalis are being seen protesting against Sajjan Kumar and Congress in Tilak Nagar, and outside Sonia Gandhi’s residence, the absence of BJP leaders comes into notice.
The only contribution by BJP has been in the form of a small statement criticizing the Congress Government’s decision by Vijay Goel (President Delhi Pradesh). BJP alleges that it supports whatever decision is taken by the court, but when it comes to Sikh issues, it fails to take a stance on the fact that the courts and investigation agencies are all playing in hands of the Congress.
