Punjabi Diaspora specially the Sikhs are now shinning in every Country. They have made us proud and have done whatever is possible to help the people in Punjab. There's a long history of Migration of Punjabi's to other Countries.
Since 1850 when Britishers became ruler of Punjab first they went to Malaya then to East Africa, Panama, Canada, America, after First World War to London, Europe and after 1950 to every part of the World. I've requested  Chief Minister Punjab to plan a Museum to show the history of the migration. This is high time to get proper record as there are people whose Grandfather , Great Grandfather was the first to migrate. I've seen a museum of people of Bihar migrating to Mauritius that country is now ruled by Biharis.
There's one such Museum at Tower of Liberty in New York where Europeans are shown when they entered America. How Punjabi's suffered is history and how they are now enjoying life is the story of success. Even the Punjabi Diaspora can think of collecting material from every country and having it display in that country. This will enthuse future generations and students will come to know how Punjabi's struggled to go abroad and settle there.
I expect that efforts will be made immediately towards this proposal.

Hon. Tarlochan Singh Ji, It is a good idea to plan a Museum to show the History of Migration of Sikhs overseas. Only if  Captain can do any justice to that exercise. Badals made a Virasat-E-Khalsa spending enormous public funds  and there are number of deficiencies as it does not serve the exact purpose it was created for  That was the analysis of the monument by many many experts. We just hope that Mr.Captain will have a better idea to and not to propagate his own or Congress Party Cronies !!!
In Reality Sikhs already have hundreds of Books and Sikh Museums outside Punjab apart from Darbar Sahib Amritsar (that was badly plundered in June 1984 by the GOI & its Army), and many other historic Gurdwaras in Punjab, India & Pakistan, and all countries with considerable Sikh Population. Most of the records of immigration and settlement are available with governments in all countries that are made public after a certain period. In addition we have histories of all the public and private Gurdwaras, Khalsa Schools. The Sikh National Archives has collected all the records of atrocities and Genocide of Sikhs in Punjab,India and other countries. including the traitors who betrayed Sikhs and took part directly or indirectly to oppress Sikhs.
We are fortunate to live in countries where the the history of even  the adversaries are also preserved and protected by the authorities in an unbiased manner. Generally Immigrants approved by many counties are the ones based on highly qualified & educated people who would add to their economies. In addition these countries also make sure that families are united here by providing immigration to the kith & kin of the immigrants..The civilized governments of the world take pride in preserving the history of its people friends or adversaries alike.
The Sikhs in Canada registered an organization named "Sikh National Archives of Canada,Inc" for the purpose of preserving the History of Sikhs in light of GOI attack on Darbar Sahib and plundering our historical documents. As per UN declaration it is crime of Genocide to destroy the literature and artifacts of a people anywhere. All Sikhs have a duty to preserve and contribute to Historical preservation.. It is sad that the Sikhs in Punjab have not paid enough attention to safeguarding Sikh history. The Udasees,Nirmalas, Mahants and all kinds of dera outfits tried to Distort Sikh History instead of preserving it !!!
Good luck with your suggestion to Mr. Captain Singh.

Ajit Singh.
