BREAKING: DMCH authorities once again start force feeding Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa

LUDHIANA—The Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) authorities today started force feeding 83 years old fasting Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. Bapu Surat Singh was earlier picked up by the Jagraon police on August 27 after he was taken to Esru by supporters so he could listen to Akhand Path Sahib.
Talking with Sikh24, Sikh activist Bhavandeep Singh Sidhu informed that the doctors today started injecting liquid supplements to Bapu Ji’s body via his nose with the help of a food pipe tied on his forehead with tape.
Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has been on hunger strike since January 16, 2015 seeking release of political Sikh prisoners languishing in Indian jails despite serving mandatory terms of their sentences. Bapu Ji has endured immense physical and mental torture of Punjab police at the behest of state government to make him give up his stance. The state government has tried tooth and nail to give an end to Bapu Ji’s hunger strike but he didn’t give up his stance.
It is pertinent to note here that Prof. Devender Pal Singh Bhullar and Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khaira’s transfer to Punjab was okayed by the State government last year under pressure of Bapu Ji’s struggle. Both of them have been released twice on parole since their transfer to Central Jail of Amritsar.
