Akali Dal MPs Ask Election Commission To Cancel AAP’s Recognition

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Taking advantage of the ongoing blame game between AAP due to an internal clash, the several Akali Dal MPs asked the Election Commission of India to probe the allegations levelled by the state Convener of the AAP Sucha Singh Chhotepur about the amassing of ransoms for granting tickets to its candidates. Sucha Singh Chhotepur alleged that the AAP leadership was charging ransoms ranging from Rs. 1 to 2 crore against each ticket for the assembly polls.
Akali Dal MPs, Sukhdev Dhindsa, Balwinder Bhondarh, Harsimrat Badal, Ranjit Brahmpura, Naresh Gujral, Sher Ghubaya and Prem Chandumajra urged the Election Commission of India to cancel the recognition of the AAP for committing violations of the electoral rules.
These Parliamentarians have also announced to formally meet the Election Commissioner seeking action against the Aam Admi Party for violating the rule and regulations imposed by the Election Commission of India.
The Parliamentarians have also said that the other leaders of the AAP like Hardeep Singh Kingra, Singer Jassi Jasraj, and NRI Pavittar Singh should also be called by the Election Commission to record their statements. Parliamentarian Harsimrat Badal urged the Election Commissioner to summon the AAP’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal in this regard.
