Over 200 militants ready to infiltrate Kashmir
India Today | 10th Jul, 2016
Over 200 heavily armed militants are reportedly waiting across the Line of Control (LoC) to infiltrate into Kashmir. Among the 200 militants are members of Lashkar e Taiba, Jaish-e-mohammad, Hizbul Mujahideen and Jamat-ud-Dawa.
The terror groups have mobilised their over ground workers. The groups are reportedly using Dhog, Nala and Dariya areas as launching pad.
These militants have a hierarchy among themselves that dictates the roles they perform. Those who have been recruited in the recent past are given the task of attacking the security forces. The more experienced terrorists are deemed trustworthy and are given the task of stone pelting and stoking up agitation.
These militants are planning to launch a double-whammy attack by launching an offensive at the border and inside the valley at the same time in order to over burden the security apparatus.
They are also hoping to destabilise the economy by hampering the tourism industry in what is the peak season for tourism in Jammu & Kashmir which includes the famous Amarnath Yatra. If the economy performs badly and the youth are jobless, this makes it a fertile hunting ground to recruit young men for militancy. They are reportedly also using the death of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani to lure the youth into militancy.
The militants are relentless in their attempts to infiltrate into Kashmir and are keeping the border security forces on their toes. However, the Indian troops are aware of the threat posed by the militants and are fully prepared for the onslaught. The security forces are confident that they have the required capability to deal with any infiltration attempt at any scale.
