CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Notorious killer cop Gurmeet Pinky has once again started creating headache for the Punjab police.  Gurmeet Pinky is a former police officer who is responsible for murders of innocent Sikh youth during the 1990s.  He was suspended from service in 2006, and later sentenced to life in prison.  His prison sentence was commuted and his was once again appointed in the Punjab Police, but later suspended.
In his latest revelations, Gurmeet Pinky has claimed in a press conference at Chandigarh that the DGP Suresh Arora was involved in fake encounters of militants Bhai Amrik Singh Jalandhari and Bhai Raminderjeet Singh Tainee during his appointment as an SSP in Jalandhar in March 1993.
Gurmeet Pinky alleged that he was threatened by an officer of ADGP rank before the Court appearance of June 1.
Pinky’s claims have since been rebutted by the Punjab Police.  DGP Suresh Arora has claimed that Pinky never worked under him.  He questioned how the latter could make revelations if both did not work together.
Despite claims by DGP Suresh Arora, the Punjab police have reportedly become active after Pinky’s allegations.  A team of Jalandhar police went to the house of Bhai Raminderjeet Singh Tainee earlier this week to get his death certificate. It is worth mentioning here that Bhai Tainee was a Babbar Khalsa’s activist who attained martyrdom along with his wife in an encounter near Khanna.
Pinky had earlier also raised blames against Ex-DGP Sumedh Saini and Sarbdeep Virk (former Indian police official) by giving interviews in media. But later he took U-turn from his stand and claimed that he was made to ‘say so’ by Journalist Kanwar Sandhu.
