MALERKOTLA, Punjab—Interim Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib (appointed by Sarbat Khalsa 2015) Bhai Dhian Singh Mand met with the Muslim community in Malerkotla on June 27 to extend his condolences over sacrilege of sacred holy scripture of Muslims ‘Quran Sharif’. Jathedar Mand visited the site of incident where pages of the holy scripture were thrown by unidentified miscreants.
Addressing the Muslim community on this occasion, Jathedar Mand strongly condemned the desecration of the ‘Quran Sharif’. Bhai Mand appealed to the masses to remain calm in this tensed situation and maintain communal harmony. He maintained that the victim communities would have to trace their culprits themselves as the Punjab Government has failed to upkeep safety of religious scriptures in Punjab. Bhai Mand said that the incident is very disturbing and he feels the pain of the Muslim community since the Sikhs faced several such incidents last year.
