BREAKING: Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa Re-Arrested by Police

LUDHIANA, Punjab—Punjab police have once again arrested Sikh activist Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa from his native village Hassanpur. Bapu Surat Singh has been on hunger protest seeking release of political Sikh prisoners since January 16, 2015.
As per sources at Hassanpur, the Punjab police ambushed on Bapu Ji’s residence in Hassanpur today, June 10, and locked his son Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi in a room, along with other family members are supporters. The police broke down the entrance door of Bapu Ji’s room. Eyewitnesses told Sikh24 that Bapu Ji was severely manhandled as he was taken away in the ambulance.
Talking with Sikh24’s correspondent after the incident, Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi said that the Punjab government was misusing its powers. He added that the violation of Human rights by Punjab government is currently at its peak.
Bhai Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi had moved a habeas petition in the Punjab & Haryana High Court on which hearing was scheduled to be conducted on May 31. The Punjab government released Bapu Ji from illegal custody at the Dayanand Medical College & Hospital on May 30. The court hearing she re-schedule and now, the Punjab police have once again taken Bapu Ji into illegal custody.
Police was gathered outside Hassanpur in large numbers since July 8. Bapu Ji’s health was worsened since he was discharged from the DMC Hospital on May 30. While at the hospital, he was forcibly given treatment, at home, he refused to take any type of medicine.
