AAP Draws Large Crowds For Conference at Sri Anandpur Sahib

SRI ANANDPUR SAHIB—In comparison to the conferences organized by the traditional political parties, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Congress, the conference of Aam Admi Party at Anandpur Sahib witnessed much larger gathering. The leadership of the Aam Admi Party officially announced that they would contest the upcoming assembly elections of Punjab on all seats. Among the prominent AAP activists present on this occasion were Ashutosh Sharma, Advocate Himmat Singh Shergill, Singer turned AAP activist Jassi Jasraj, Deepak Tomar, Baljinder Kaur, Dr. R.S Parmar, Bikramjit Singh, Jasvir Singh Bir, Iqbal Singh, Gursharan Singh, and H.S Kingra.
Addressing the gathering of mostly workers, Member of Parliament, Bhagwant Mann, said that ousting the Akali-BJP alliance from Punjab was the need of the hour. He claimed that the Akali-BJP alliance had made Punjab bankrupt.
Newly appointed AAP leader, Sukhpal Singh Khehra, stated that Punjab had a debt of Rs. 1,250,000 crore and that the Punjab government was borrowing even more money to pay the debt installments. He said that the Punjab government had borrowed 5,000 crore rupees to woo voters for the upcoming assembly elections of 2017.
State convener, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, said that the Akali government was leading the youth of Punjab towards drugs. Chhotepur also said that the administration in Punjab was at the peak of its corruption.
