Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara acquitted from TADA charges in 1988 Case

ROOP NAGAR, Punjab—In a case registered against Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara under TADA charges in 1988, the court of Roop Nagar acquitted Bhai Hawara on February 24.
The case dates back to October 9, 1988 when Bhai Hawara was arrested with a 32-bore pistol. A case under section 5 of TADA (Terrorists and Disruptive Activities Control Act) was registered against Bhai Hawara at that time. Police could not present any evidence against Bhai Hawara, which led the court to dismiss the charges against him.
The court case was presided by Additional Session Judge Sunita Kumar who acquitted Bhai Hawara. Bhai Hawara appeared in the court through video conferencing.
