JALANDHAR, Punjab—The NIA team investigating serial murders in Punjab today conducted raid at the house of Jagtar Singh Johal’s in-laws situated in village Sohal Jagir of Jalandhar district. During the raid, Jagtar Singh’s newly wed wife was questioned by the NIA team.
Interacting with media, Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the NIA team was harassing Jagtar Singh Johal’s relative. “This is to put pressure on Jagtar Singh to confess to his alleged crimes,” he said.
He further claimed that both the Punjab police and NIA have remained unsuccessful in getting anything objectionable against Jagtar Singh Johal to prove their claims so they have now resorted cheap tactics to pressurize Jagtar Singh Johal and his family.
It is learnt that the Panchayat of village Sohal Jagir also remained present during NIA’s raid at house of Jaggi’s in laws.
Sikh24 tried to get in touch with Jaggi’s in-laws but all the efforts went in vain. Till writing this report, it was unclear whether the NIA team just interrogated Jaggi’s wife at her house or also took her alongwith.
